a tokyo photolog (my flickr archive, and occasional rant and rave: I have a free flickr acount, and want to keep the pics I have uploaded.)
finetune.com seems good. They aren't too "mainstream" (they even have Fugazi) and you can build your own playlist. A playlist has to have 45+ songs for you (or anyone) to play, and you can choose only three songs from the same musician/band in a list. I personally think last.fm is better to get to know something new to you, but if you want an iPod alternative and you are nailed to your computer for a long time, finetune.com will do.
Full playlist is here. Some from the list ... I have some other playlist. At first I had everything in one place, and the result was just awful: Discharge, Dead Kennedys, then Kylie, then Helmet, then VU ... So I separated the list. The one above is some "pop" songs (no Ministry, no DK, no Discharge).
One thing ... they actually have Fugazi, but why don't they have the Red Medicine album??? (T T)
And if you are looking for a Coil, search for "Alternative Press Presents Industrial Strength - Machine Music" album. I'm surprised to find this there! They also have some Throbbing Gristle but they don't have Crass.
