a tokyo photolog (my flickr archive, and occasional rant and rave: I have a free flickr acount, and want to keep the pics I have uploaded.)
Someone, probably a teenager, put this pink monkey on her bicycle.
As I was walking, I saw something really pink under my umbrella. I got closer, and found it was this.

For SEE THE EARTH ON THE 7TH OF OCTOBER 2005 group.
Pictured at the entrance of a small playground in my area, surrounded by dozens of mosquitoes. (No red leaves in Tokyo yet!)
This is a tiny bit, but it's the only earth I could find when I walk back from the station. (I excluded someone else's garden. And the playground was full of kids playing football/soccer.)
It had rained on the day before (06 October 2005) in Tokyo, and the ground was not quite dry yet though it was almost 17:00 07 October. Weather: cloudy.
And what's next... HORIZON! Without doubt, it's the most difficult thing to find any horizon here in my area in Tokyo.
PS: I tried.

It's really hard for us to find any decent "earth" in Tokyo... well, it seems not, for plants.
Pictured at about 17:00, 07 October 2005. (Already a bit dark, so blurred.)
This is exactly where this picture was taken. Looking up, what I see is that. Looking down, what I see is this.
