a tokyo photolog (my flickr archive, and occasional rant and rave: I have a free flickr acount, and want to keep the pics I have uploaded.)

Minato-ku's symbol, based on the hiragana, み (of みなと く = 港区).
A street in Tokyo, 15 September 2007 - three days after Mr Shinzo Abe of the LDP (Jimin To) said he would step down.
This is a rubbish collection point. Two cardboard boxes and one LDP poster board.
I pictured these as they were found. And I know nothing about this caffeine-addicted person.
I've been cleaning up my hard disc drive, and have just found this photo, taken in September 2006.
で、結果これかい。がっくり。 写真上はYahoo Japanのニュース記事、下はNHKの開票速報。
At the moment I don't feel very good because of the election result. By the way they are so efficient to count the votes. It's so quick. I hear they've got a special machine to read the ballot paper. (In Japan we write the candidate's name on with a pencil on the ballot paper, and counting machines with an OCR software does the job. I wish I could show how it is like to you, but they don't allow cameras inside the polling station.)
And the music I am listening to with foobar? It goes "too ****ed up to care anymore".
By the way, one of the candidates, Kisho Kurokawa 黒川紀章, is THAT architect Kurokawa, worldly known for the capsule hotel tower built in the early 1970s.
And if you are as depressed as I am, and need a good laugh - nonsense treat:

A Continental Airlines advert.
Saturated ... I played with JTrim software.
A mosaic (two separate pictures, taken ten steps away each other.)
The paper at the top used to be part of the tyny box below. It's a box of strawberry gums, popular among children,
View large to see why "dinner time". This is an "as-is" picture. Possibly related to this Cup Noodle, which was 50 meters away.
Ciggy stubs everywhere. They usually ruins the picture, but can't I somehow make the picture? And this is one experiment. 'See this On Black.
* Additional effects on a software called JTrim. It's great, easy to use and free.
Somebody's act of littering, or is it just he/she gave me a chance to take a picture for the "bright colours on gray" group?
Littering is annoying. This is one of the everyday problems here in Tokyo. People throw their rubbish into somebody else's bicycle basket on the street. This isn't my bike, but often I find mine with a basket-full of empty cans, ciggy boxes and onigiri wrappers. I don't remember how many times I had to get back to my room to get a plastic bag for all the rubbish. Annoying, really.
Spamming is a problem for us, online or not. This beautiful motorbike has just suffered one act of spamming on its number plate/license plate. (See note.)
The yellow sticker says "Thinking of selling your motorbike? Just call us! We are more experienced than anyone else!!"
I think the sticker is very easy to remove, though. Stickier than Post-It notes but less sticky than usual brown tapes.
