This video has no audio. At the time of the recording, someone was announcing/reading out something over the community wireless system but it was hard to make out . (I wonder if it could be of use in emergency.)
One year ago, the quake shook large part of Japan. Within an hour, the tsunami hit the north-east coastline.

Never noticed this tree has these red berries. I usually don't look up at this tree.

A man who's just got out of a car exclaimes, "Massive snow!" His companion says, "We'll have 10 cm of snow in the morning, instead of 5 cm as the weather station was telling us."
車から降りた人が「すごい雪になってる」と声をあげた。一緒にいた人が「予報じゃ5センチって言っていたが、そんなもんじゃすまないだろうな。10センチにはなるんじゃないか」と答えていた。

We did have snow in December here in the outer area of Tokyo, but they didn't at the "official" location of our weather authority (in Otemachi, the very centre of Tokyo).

The other day a book arrived from Derry, Northern Ireland. It looks like the publisher is a small company, quite possibly a DIY-style one. Very nicely they put in the envelope a copy of Derry and Donegal Tourist Guide 2011, which is sweet, as I hope to visit the Walled City before I get too old. :)
Then, today, I'm hearing another news of "zombie" attack. Distressing.

Derry is such a beautiful city. There's no place for bombs or IEDs. It goes without saying that bombs can't make things better. I'm hoping in my room in Tokyo that they would wise up.
